Cause a Scene

We regularly dine at the scene restaurant and it is a total must for visitors or if you’re on holiday in Dubai go to see the spectacular views of the Marina. Located on the 4th floor in Pier 7 at Dubai marina you will not be disappointed!

My Favourite drink is a signature cocktail ‘PS I love you’ which is a mixture of 64 Stolichnaya Vanilla, passion fruit, apple juice and a fizzing Prosecco shooter to top it off! What can I say I am a Prosecco girl through and through even with a cocktail!

We visited a few weeks ago for a Sunday roast (even though it was a Saturday) and the roast lamb dinner was super tasty! Something to remember you can’t use the entertainer voucher for the roast dinner, only the main menu. If you want a table with a view always book in advance to avoid disappointment, photo opportunities are amazing! Check it out and don’t forget to make a reservation!

Did someone say Thiptara

A few weeks ago we visited a restaurant that has been on my list for months, the beautiful ‘Thiptara’ As recommendations go this was certainly up there with the best Thai food I have ever eaten! The scenery completely blew us away! It’s fair to say last night was a very special evening.

Thiptara is located in the Palace Downtown hotel, which overlooks the Dubai dancing fountains, which as you can imagine not only meant the views were pretty awesome too. I opted for a table outdoors which is a minimum spend of 350aed (£76) per person, this includes food and drink. As a special treat, it was totally worth it! We selected various starters and mains to share and sample everything! Highly recommend the Duck in chili for the main and tempura prawns to start. Of course Pinot Grigio wine, 215aed (£48) a bottle, a good price for the location! It would be rude not to have a toast in such a beautiful setting. The dancing fountains spring into life every 30 minutes leaving one completely overwhelmed!

Book in advance would be my top tip! Whether you want to sit indoors or outdoors, request a table on the right-hand side of the restaurant if you want the best view!

The Next Chapter

desk

So as I start another chapter in my career a little reflection is called for.

I have decided to leave the corporate world behind, venture out and start another business. If you have tuned into my site previously you will know my background is in the corporate world as a personal assistant, I have loved this as a career and I have also been running a home based business for 3 years. I was asked why did you start a business if you had a good career?

So why did I start my own business?

The first reason and I will be completely honest is money, I wanted to earn a little bit more to top up my income. The second reason I feel is that I wanted something of my own, I wanted to grow as an individual and having my own business would challenge me whilst I was earning money! Makes perfect sense really! Next, I wanted to be different and try something new! I loved the brand and products I used so why would I not share them with other people!? When you have a passion it’s so hard to contain the excitement

Lastly, I think I always knew I wanted to be successful, do more, be more and be the best I could be which brings me to another chapter……….the next chapter. I will be launching a new business later this month! I am super excited about this and can only look back on the last 3 years and feel so grateful for each step that I have taken as it has lead me to where I am now.

Your body is not a rubbish bin ….

Youfoodz_MealPlan_CleanLean

I decided to do the 9 day cleanse back in December because as I get older I’m more aware of the rubbish I put in my body and needed a kickstart. My main goal was to feel less bloated and healthier!

During the first few days, I struggled at first with the small meals as I worked long days, I am on the go and stood up most of the day. Lindsey had checked in on me and I said I felt like I needed more throughout the day. I spoke to Lindsey and together we decided to split the 600 calorie evening meal into two meals rather than just one at night.

I felt much better and found it much easier to follow the program. I enjoyed eating cleaner and healthier too, I loved the variety of free foods, I didn’t have a favorite but I found the list really good as these curbed any cravings I had.

I also found recipes from Joe Wicks helped me as well as all the recipe ideas Lindsey shared with me. There are many people I think could benefit from this cleanse as it shows how easy it can be to eat cleaner. I would definitely do the cleanse again and look forward to working with Linz again.

Not just for you young things……..

images (6) My name is Dilys and I am almost 68 years young.

I have used the 9 day cleanse program a couple of times and found it great. Initially, both times to kick start some weight loss and it works so well, the program also re-educates you into eating healthier. The first 3 days I have stuck to the programme taking the supplements, the famous aloe drink gel and shakes. On day 3 to 9 the 600 calorie evening meals is introduced, If you choose you can swop this meal to be your lunch if you need to, so it suits your routine.

Lindsey talked me through the options and what would work best for me and my routine I enjoyed lots of free foods, great to snack on if you need them throughout the 9 days. I stuck to my own food choices thereafter but lots of tasty recipe ideas in the pack. I felt 100% at my age that’s a bonus and proved that the Cleanse has no age barriers. Not just for you young things. My advice is to give it a go, talk through with Lindsey what you want to achieve, you will not be disappointed. Dilys, Fleetwood

Cleanse and Pumping Iron

gym-weights

My reason for completing the 9 day cleanse was for me to find out how much my body can handle.

I enjoy training and go to the gym most days for a minimum of 1 hour.  My main goal was to complete the program whilst still feeding my body with the right amount of food for fuel for the output I needed for energy. I had talked this through with Lindsey prior to starting and researched myself.

At the same time I wanted to eat the same amount of calories and loses weight, I was heavy weight training daily. The thing I enjoy most was losing the weight and I felt really great as I finally finished the program without quitting, so it was a good achievement! At the moment  I wouldn’t do the cleanse again as I am completing my own plan on my terms and I am at my optimum weight.

My favorite free food was pear and the berries, you could graze on these plus other foods throughout the program so hunger was not an issue. I know lots of people’s that would love to do it but they think more about the money, not about a better health.

From Sceptic to Inspiration…..

Sarah Shakes (3)Let me start by saying this journey is less about a diet, a quick fix or a way to lose a few extra pounds.

For me this was the beginning of becoming an inspiration. A very brief conversation with a work colleague and I was introduced to the C9 plan and Forever. At first, I thought it was worth giving it a go just to give me the kick start, to stop me having that hot chocolate and muffin in the morning or that chocolate bar at lunch time with my bottle of coke. For me, I was always too busy to make breakfast in the morning so it was easy just to go to work and pick something up, always thinking I will chose the health option and never actually doing it. So I had my consultation with Lindsey and went through the plan and what I wanted to get out of the program. Then I set my day one, knowing this time if I was going to do it, I could not back out as I had Lindsey offering checking in with me every day to see how I was doing. I am not going to lie, the morning of day one I wanted to back out and start again tomorrow, but I had paid this money for the C9 and I was going to give it a go.

I had prepared the day before by getting in fruit and veg in even though I knew this was limited as there was no planned meal on Day 1 just grazing, but at least I was prepared.  This was lesson 1 – Be prepared.  And so I started.  The first taste of Aloe Vera and I promise you, I wanted to return the box, it was hard to take even knowing that it had this unique taste. I spoke to Lindsey and she said put it in the fridge it was better cold and to take it down in one.  Lesson 2 – find the way it suits you best to take the Aloe.

So I completeddid day one, surprised at the lack of hunger I felt but I had a head ache which I felt was strange.  I thought maybe it was the amount of water I had drunk or lack of food, but again I went back to my Lindsey who explained it is due to your body detoxifying, it was okay to take two headache tablets which I did and then slept very well that night.  Better than I had for a while.  Day two completed. Lesson 3 – Keep going. So day two I found easier than day one I found taking the Aloe easier and found that I had time to do my fruit for a snack or my milkshake in the morning. By day 3, I was grateful to increase my calories, although I lost 1.5kg in two days, which was great this is not how the plan works.

I prepared the day before, my meals, fruit and water and got up on morning 3 and made up my shakes with fruit and my new found LOVE of almond milk.  I made enough up for both my shakes for the day and then when I got home from a long day at work I knew I could make up my healthy dinner. And this continued for the next 5 days until we finally got to day 9.  I found a lot about the C9 was about the choices I made.  On day 5, as often happens I was working late, now normally this would mean a take away, but because I had planned and made extra meals up I knew I could have a healthy meal. Even on day 7, when I really fancied a take away, normal it would have been fast food full of calories.  So now was a choice, break the C9 or make a better choice so I chose to have a takeout but had a take away which was balanced with salad and grilled meat.

Throughout my journey Lindsey, who I would now like say is a good friend of mine, supported me, always there to answer questions and to offer tips and ideas to me. This helpped me to do the 9 days and then put a plan in place for the after the 9 days.  As I said I learnt a lot and I learnt most of all Lesson 4 – I did have time.  I had time to make breakfast and time to make lunch and I had time to make that healthy meal instead of choosing fast food. And so I continued. I carried on with the elements of the program, shakes, supplements and the Aloe gel and over the next 12 weeks whilst eating good foods, I lost 15kg.  Just doing the same thing, making the right choices and making the time to do the right thing. The more weight I lost, the more people noticed and the more people asked me how I did it and that’s how I become an inspiration and became a Forever Representative myself. I now help other people who want to make changes to their eating habits and it all begins with the C9 Challenge.

To Cleanse or not to Cleanse, That is the question……

images (12)

Having worked within the health and wellness industry for almost 3 years I would not say I am an expert and I certainly don’t have a nutritional qualification. In fact three of my favorite things are chocolate, carrot cake and Prosecco. All in moderation of course! I do however have lots knowledge and tops tips for people who are looking to complete the our cleanse program, seemly known as the famous C9!

I have supported a lot of people through this program males, females, younger people and others in there 60’s. Through my blog you will see snippets of feedback, tips and information on the program and get a real understanding if it is for you or not.

What some see as a boxed package I see as an opportunity to give yourself a 9 day make over, to truly allow your body to rest from the crap and pollution you may add daily. Also top up on goodness and rehydrate yourself. Seriously, its all about you, body and mind, inside and out!

Regardless to what some people think it is NOT a diet! I will repeat the 9 day cleanse is not a diet! It is a expertly-devised calorie-controlled programme. It is designed to kick-start and prepare your body and adjust your mindset. It is a perfect starting point for transforming your meal and fitness habits and you see results in just nine days. Focusing on what you put into your body, reducing sugars, carbs anything toxic including alcohol and caffeine, increasing your movement and exercise. I am currently on day 2 and not sure what I miss the most my coffee or glass of bubbles, but my stomach certainly feels less bloated!  It allows you to follow a simple daily plan that fits perfectly around your routine. Its my job to help you do this whether you train hard, work shifts or feel like a couch potato.

I will help you feel fantastic with this program! For more information or a chat to ask more questions you can contact me on Lindsey@lindseyfairhurst.com Time to get my 8 hours sleep in before my early gym blast session tomorrow.

A Real Kick Start ……..

download (1)I felt like I had put a lot of weight on since moving to Dubai and I realized it was time I became more confident within myself. I had looked at meal plan companies and a few other options and I tried the 9 day cleanse as realised it was not about starving myself, it was a day by day plan to kick start to losing weight safely. My main goal was to lose as much weight as possible over the months ahead, I put 100% effort and commitment in to the 9 day cleanse. I knew the cleanse was a kick start and I would have to continue once the program had finished. I struggled on day two as I was limited to food intake but had the strength to power through. After the power struggle it then became easier to stay on plan for the remaining 7 days.  I mainly ate protein and did not touch any of the free foods which we a mixture of low glycemic fruits, salad and vegetables. My goal was to loose as much weight as I possibly could over a period of time. I started at 104kg and I am now at 88kg. Further to go, but continuing to use the products has really helped me focus. Lindsey supported me through bad cravings (Diet Coke) spoke to me daily to ensure I was on the right track. By adding me to the support group I could see first hand that the C9 cleanse worked and how everyone had come together. By inviting me to social events I felt welcomed and feeling a part of something is a major positive for me.

Miracle Morning

1169895_1171939642818401_883283807_nSo what are you a morning person or a night owl? let’s face it we are either one or the other!  For me I am certainly a night owl my brain seems to fire up at the exact moment my head hits the pillow. I am on a mission to become a better morning person, but this is not going to happen overnight!  No pun intended. Last year was recommended  a book called Miracle morning written by Hal Elrod, I picked up some fab tips which I implemented but overtime they have slipped, let’s face it life gets busy and I drink far too much Prosecco! Brain cells frazzle! Determined to create some new habits and become that ball of energy at 6.30am I have picked the book back up again. I forgot how awesome it was, so here are a few of my favorite tips for a better start for your day.

1. Reduce decisions- This is so simple the less you have to think about when you get out of bed the better. So having everything ready to go is key! Outfit of the day ready and by this ironed, no point in fighting with the ironing board at 8am! Gym kit packed, lunch ready to go, diary and laptop ready.

2. Be organized  – This goes hand in hand with reducing decisions first thing. I have found that having everything ready and good to go and planning my week in advance makes me feel happier. Who I am seeing, where I am going, what I am doing.

3. Know your day – The good saying springs to mind ‘Rule the day before the day rules you’ have a plan and celebrate your achievements along the way.

4. Exercise –  I love gym classes especially Les Mills body pump, but some days the class times will not fit to my agenda. So the cross trainer is becoming my best friend, a reliable friend at 7am OUCH!!! , 30 minutes to wake me up. This morning was hard!!! But I committed, so I did it!

5. Vitamin Boost – I will admit I am not a breakfast fan but it is such an important meal of the day so I try. I start my day with an Aloe Vera vitamin shot and bee pollen energy tablets. Followed by a small smoothie or shake and a coffee.

In summary it is about creating some new habits and I am over a week into my new routine, it takes 30 days to break old habit’s so 23 more days to go. Stay tuned……
